BABY BLUES, PREGNANCY AND POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION & ANXIETY

Are you feeling overwhelmed as a new mom? Is it harder than you expected? Do you feel like you're doing it all wrong? Are you so exhausted that you can’t even sleep or remember your name? Do it feel like you're the only one that doesn't have it all together? Believe me when I say that you're not alone!

Did you know that at least 1 in 7 moms struggle with postpartum depression and 1 in 10 dads do as well? Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are a unique set of disorders that are often misunderstood. PMADS include Pregnancy or Postpartum Depression, Pregnancy or Postpartum Anxiety,  Pregnancy or Postpartum Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Postpartum Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Postpartum Psychosis. Symptoms can start as early as pregnancy and appear during the first year after childbirth.

The months during pregnancy and after giving birth are stressful for everyone involved. You get little to no sleep and there is no time to take care of yourself. But how do you know if the anxiety, lack of energy, or moodiness you’re experiencing are part of a healthy process or just the typical Baby Blues?

I will help you understand what you are experiencing and then teach you the skills so that you are able to feel “like your old self” again. I can offer you ways to cope and adjust with your new role as a mom along with juggling all of your other responsibilities.

I know how sometimes just the thought of leaving the house alone with baby is too overwhelming and can stop you from seeking the help you need. That's why I will come to you for your counseling session if you desire.

I offer in home pregnancy and postpartum counseling sessions.
